Meyers Falls Cemetery was in the town of Meyers Falls WA, back in the 1930's. This was before the construction of Grand Coulee Dam. The cemetery for the town of Kettle Falls, at that time, was Grandview, but oft times it is referred to now as the 'Old Kettle Falls' cemetery.

This is because when the river rose after Coulee Dam was built, the town of Kettle Falls moved to what was then Meyers Falls. It then took on the name of Kettle Falls, but the Cemetery kept it's name. Grandview sort of took the backseat and was used less and less. When we read Grandview, they were restoring it from neglect.

This cemetery is very well cared for, and I would have to say it is beautiful, with a personality all it's own.

After I transcribed from our two pieces of work, I compared with two sources. The reading of this cemetery published in 1976 by EWGS and the list at the entrance of the cemetery, which I refer to as Sexton file. I photographed the lists of burials which had locations. Some were very difficult to read from my photos. Please do not consider these burial locations absolute, realize they could be incorrect, I speak of the numbers at the end of many entries, which are the locations in the cemetery. Some did not have a location, which means even the cemetery association does not have all of the burials accounted for, by no fault of their own I am sure.

If the name came from EWGS I placed one asterisk * after the name, if it came from the Sexton file, I wrote, "Sexton file", in the entry. Usually these have no dates, and most likely no headstone or marker.

My daughter Vicki Morris and I walked and read this cemetery on Aug 15, 2000. I used my digital camera and Vicki wrote in a notebook. Then we would switch jobs. If I have a photo for many of these stones. Some needed to be copied by hand, a photo would not turn out good so those I will not have.
