About the Cemetery

Chester Community Cemetery was established in 1901. The cemetery is in decent shape and has as rural look to it. There is also a hiking trail that runs thru the cemetery. I noticed at least 2 distinct areas. One is by the main cemetery entrance by the sign. There is also a section by the 1 st gate before the sign. There is parking for a couple of cars along the edge of the road. The oldest marked grave was from 1894 and the most recent burial from 2018.

Cemetery Records

Records below were transcribed from all visible tombstone inscriptions and grave markers by Suzanne Livingstone during a visit to the cemetery in April 2022. It is possible there may be other markers, some of which are no longer visible, either under grass or very weathered to where they are non
legible

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
