I spotted this site as I was driving south on Long Alec road looking
for the Curlew City cemetery. It lies off the road about 300 feet
shortly before you get to the Curlew City cemetery. It was much
further than my mind said it would be, through a barbed wire fence,
which is not as easy either as when I was young.
The burial spot is all alone on the flat of the hill, evergreen
trees on the one side and a field of grass on the other side.
Someone has built a fence around the lone burial spot to protect
it. The headstone is a cement rectangle with a funeral marker
in the center top of it.
I am unsure on the spelling of the surname. The stone has Merrit
and the sign has Merritt. I surveyed this cemetery on Jul 19,
2001.
