Oak Point Cemetery
Oak Point, Cowlitz County, Washington

Lat: 46°11'20"N, Lon: 123°11'19"W

Contributed by Stephen S. Whitney Jr., May 24, 2002. Total records = 178.

To reach the cemetery go west from Longview, Washington on Ocean Beach Highway approx. 12 miles. Turn left onto Mill Creek Road then immediately left onto Oak Point Road. Proceed past the church and turn left onto Cedar Hills Road. Signs will direct you to the cemetery.

Cemetery is on land donated by Burris N. Lowe and Frank C. Reid. It is quite small, an acre or less and is therefore restricted to the exclusive use of those families who lived in the community prior to 1957 and their heirs. The cemetery is in fair condition. Maintenance consists of mowing for Memorial Day and prior to a new burial.

Information was obtained by personal survey of the cemetery and checked against official records. The cemetery survey was done by Myrtle Whitney on May 11, 2002 and transcribed by Stephen Whitney Jr. on May 15, 2002.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
