Total records = 55.
This cemetery lies just east of Lake Chelan next to the Mill Bay
resort.
It is cared for by the owner of the resort, William Evans who
said it was never dedicated and really has no name. The following
information was told to me by Mr. Evans on Oct 24, 1999 when I
visited and did an inventory of the cemetery.
This cemetery was started, following the formation of a church
at this site, by early Catholic missionaries, adding the burial
place next to the church. In 1952 the church was destroyed by
fire, leaving only the cemetery on the site.
The first burials were primarily the Wapato family, who are
members of the Moses Band of the Colville Indians. In later years
additional people were reburied here, displaced from other burial
sites.
I walked and read this cemetery, with permission from Mr Evans,
on Oct 24, 1999.
