The Babandorf grave site is on the old Babandorf place, some three
miles east of Anatone near the head of Weissenfels Ridge, and in the
head of the west branch of the Tenmile Creek Canyon. The Babandorf place
has been owned and farmed by Fred Weisenfels for many years. Our guide
to the grave site was Bill Weisenfels.
Located a short way south of where the Babandorf buildings were, on
the north turn of the hill, is a rock enclosure some four feet high
and perhaps 15 fee square. It is a shady serene, thinly brushed, brass
covered area, though rather remote. It is located almost in the center
of Sec 31, T8N, R46E, W.M.
George Babandorf, who came to the Anatone area in 1878, died in 1883
and is believed buried there. Also, later, a girl was buried there.
It believed that she was a Babandorf, but date and identity are unknown.
