Garst Showalter Cemetery
Roanoke City, Virginia

Lat: 36° 20' 20"N, Lon: 79° 59' 59"W

Contributed by Chuck Garst, Mar 29, 2000 [cgarst@garstfamily.com]. Total records = 27.

Going north on Rt. 117, cross the 1-581 overpass and turn immediately to the north on Rt. 626; follow to the cemetery, which is on high ground and visible from 1-81.

This cemetery is in good condition, though a few stones have become dim. Elizabeth Showalter Bowman corroborated some of the readings.

I walked the cemetery and completed this transcription in March of 2000.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
