Goodwin/Wood Cemetery
Roanoke County, Virginia

Located in the Wabun area off of Poor Mountain Roan at the end of 5824 Foster Lane.

Contributed by Sandy Cooper, Oct 09, 2001, last edited Sep 20, 2007 [sandycoopr@comcast.net]. Total records = 13.

This is an old cemetery located on our property above our house. We built on my old family home place in 1985. It is really pretty. It has a chain link fence around it and a large section that can be removed when needed to bury someone.

The cemetery is still active, however it is a private family cemetery. My is the caretaker husband, a job he started in 1964 because my uncle and aunt were too old to do it anymore.

I have transcribed from the records of Jerry and Mary G. Cooper Trustee's and family of the Goodwin/Wood Cemetery. It was established by John Edward and Sarah Ellen Goodwin Wood after the death of William Rosswell Wood their child in 1891.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
