Harman, Buchanan County, Virginia

Belcher Fork Road, Harman VA

Lat: 37° 17' 06"N, Lon: 82° 11' 54"W

Submitted by Danica Love, Mar 03, 2004 [danicabrown@hotmail.com]. Total records = 30.

Take US 460 W for 4.2 miles Turn left onto VA 609 headed towards Maxie and Harman, VA Follow VA 609 to VA 614 (located after "Entering Harman" sign, but before actual town) Turn Left onto VA 614 Follow VA 614 past Dale Road but before Belcher Road Fork Cemetery is located on the right hand side, on a hill behind a Belcher residence. Parking is in the residence driveway. Cemetery is visable from street.

The cemetery is located on land owned by the Belcher family. Members of the Belcher family were the first to be buried in the cemetery because it was originally a family cemetery. Later the Belchers began to allow neighbors to bury their family in the cemetery. The state no longer allows burial in this cemetery.

These records represent every headstone in the cemetery, but many headstones are missing. If anyone knows of more names I will be happy to add them to my reading.

I have obtained all information and compiiled this record, from personal viewing of the headstones on Feb 28, 2004.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
