The Cemetery was maintained by the Draper Cemetery Corporation, and owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As of October 2006, the cemetery ownership has been transferred from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to the city of Draper, Utah.

Cemetery was established around 1850, originally on the "Sand Hill" in Draper. Because of weather, animals or both, the remains were moved in 1870 to the current location. The earliest burial date in the cemetery records is 21 November 1870 but there are headstones with earlier dates than that. It was started by LDS Pioneers who settled Draper City.

Headstone data was initially compiled by Mark and David Rasmussen for their BSA Eagle Projects. Andrew Jackson and I proofread and edited their data and compared it with the Sexton records for his BSA Eagle Project. This is a complete listing of all known burials as of Jan 08, 2005.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
