The earliest Plymouth Cemetery is in the hills east of Washakie. On Jul 12, 1894, Bishop Thomas H. Archibald George Smith, with the assistance of several other men, organized the present cemetery. The cemetery was located on the northwest corner of the George Smith homestead. The first burials were nine children who died of diphtheria.

In 1969 a cemetery district was created and plans were made to improve the cemetery. Water was piped in and lawn planted. The cemetery has improved much over the years. This year, 2001, modern restrooms were installed. It is now a very well maintained active cemetery.

Information came from a cemetery walk through, check with sexton old records, earlier transcriptions and family files. Completed Jun 15, 2001.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
