Cemetery History

Opened December 14, 2011, this 30-acre cemetery includes a covered, open-air structure for committal services, a visitor’s center, a computer kiosk that can help visitors locate a grave, and a memorial walkway for future monuments.

The Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, located on I-37 just northwest of downtown Corpus Christi, was initially designed to serve an estimated 50,000 veterans in the 15-county region along coastal Texas. The master plan provides for 31,500 gravesites over a 40-year period.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
