Oswalt Cemetery
Medicine Mounds, Hardeman County, Texas

Submitted by Patti O'Bannon, Sep 06, 2004 [obannon@swoi.net]. Total records = 16.

Directions: From Quanah, Hardeman County, Texas take Highway 287 E for approximately 8 miles. Turn East onto FM Road #1167 and follow the road 9 miles to the community of Medicine Mounds. FM Road 1167 turns back South. Continue to follow this road for approximately 3 miles. It will turn back east for approximately 5 more miles.

The cemetery is located on the south side of the road in a clump of trees. There is a fence and it is gated but difficult to see because of the trees.

This cemetery is very grown up and full of grass burrs. Apparently there is no maintenance being done. It is possible there are others buried there, but if there are, the markers are not visable.

I walked and read this cemetery on Sep 01, 2004. This includes all existing and legible stones and markers.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
