The Old Gray Cemetery is situated on 13 acres of history and beauty in the downtown area of Knoxville, Tennessee, across from the National Cemetery. It was founded in 1850, then dedicated later in 1852. It was first called Country Churchyard but later named after Thomas Gray. It has been placed on the National Register and the first person buried in this cemetery was William Martin, d. Jul 04, 1851.
