Cemetery History

Also known as the "Rosebud Sioux Tribe Veterans Cemetery", it was dedicated on August 22, 2013, though it had officially opened earlier on Memorial Day of 2013. It was the first Native American National Cemetery, through a $7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The cemetery sits on 80 acres of tribal land and is open for burials for veterans who are members of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe.
