Wood Cemetery
Rogersville, Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 51' 10"N, Lon: 80° 24' 03"W
Jackson Township

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Nov 09, 2009, last edited Nov 10, 2009 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 7.

At the Route 18/21 split just west of Rogersville, make a left at the blinking yellow light on to Route 18 South. Follow for 2.5 miles until you come to the small town of Holbrook. Make a right on Bristoria Road and follow for 7 miles. Make a left on to Long Run and follow for 1.6 miles. The cemetery is located in the woods and will be on your left. Depending on the time of year it may be visible from the road. There is a small sign next to the road as well.

The cemetery is no longer maintained. It is surrounded by remnants of a wire fence. All of the stones are standing but several are very difficult to read. I found one fieldstone marker as well as two large stones with nothing inscribed on them. The cemetery is on land owned by the Inghram family. Seek permission from the land owner before going to the cemetery.

I walked the cemetery on Nov 07, 2009 with my friend Charles Newman. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
