Windy Gap Cemetery
Aleppo Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 47' 47"N, Lon: 80° 27' 13"W

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Apr 18, 2008, last edited Apr 08, 2009 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 238.

From Waynesburg follow Route 21 West approximately 6.5 miles through the town of Rogersville and to a blinking yellow light. Turn left onto Route 18 South and travel 8.7 miles and turn right onto Aleppo Road. Follow for 4 miles and turn left or south onto Windy Gap Road. Follow 2.7 miles. Cemetery will be on your left.

The cemetery is surrounded by a fence with a gate, is in good condition. It is maintained on a regular basis. The cemetery offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. It sits next to Windy Gap Church, which has the years 1846-1996 above the front door. I found ten illegible markers and two bases with no stones upon them. Burials still occur here, although infrequently. The last was in 2007.

I walked the cemetery on Oct 25, 2008. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested.

    cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

    Clear Digital Media, Inc.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
