White Church Cemetery (New)
Franklin Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 51' 53"N, Lon: 80° 13' 06"W

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Jan 13, 2008, last edited Apr 08, 2009 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 103.

From Waynesburg, take Route 218 South. Follow Route 218 South approximately 2.7 miles. Turn right onto Portal Road and follow approximately 1 mile until it comes to a "T" intersection with Whites Ridge Road. The cemetery will be on your right at the intersection. It is surrounded by a fence but access can be gained through several gates.

This cemetery is located near the Franklin and Center Township line, but officially it is considered to be located in Franklin Township.

Unlike the older White cemetery just down the road, this cemetery is well maintained year round. The last burial took place here in 2004. I found 5 stones that were either illegible or unmarked fieldstones.

I walked the cemetery on Apr 04, 2007. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
