Scott Cemetery
Rogersville, Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 53' 21"N, Lon: 80° 19' 34"W

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Jan 13, 2008, last edited Apr 08, 2009 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 36.

From Waynesburg follow Route 21 West through the town of Rogersville to a blinking yellow light. Bear right at the light and stay on Route 21 West. Follow for approximately 4.5 miles and make a right on to Scott Run (SR4017). There will be a covered bridge on the opposite side of Route 21. As soon as you turn on to Scott Run the cemetery is located on your left, sitting atop a very steep bank. Depending on the time of year the cemetery may be difficult to see from the road.

This cemetery is not maintained and has large trees growing in and around it, but depsite this the stones are in considerably better condition than I expected. Some are worn from age, but all are standing. I also found unidentified 12 fieldstone markers. Burials do not occur here any longer.

I walked the cemetery on 13 Apr 2007. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
