Bethany Cemetery
Nettle Hill, Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 47' 58"N, Lon: 80° 22' 20"W
Jackson Township

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Apr 19, 2009, last edited Jul 12, 2010 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 214.

From the Route 21/Route 18 split in west Waynesburg, follow Route 21 West approximately 6.5 miles through the town of Rogersville and to a blinking yellow light. Turn left onto Route 18 South and travel 8.2 miles. The cemetery and church will be on your right.

The cemetery is in very good condition and is maintained year round. A lane makes a semi circle through the cemetery allowing you to drive around it. I found two damaged funeral home markers, three stones with first and middle names only and two stones that are completely illegible. Otherwise, all the stones are standing and in good condition. Burials still occur here. The cemetery also provides spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

I walked the cemetery on 29 Nov 2008. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested.

    cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

    Clear Digital Media, Inc.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
