Bates Fork Cemetery
Washington Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania

Lat: 39° 57' 42"N, Lon: 80° 15' 25"W

Contributed by Brad Jarvis, Nov 11, 2007, last edited Apr 08, 2009 [forza@windstream.net]. Total records = 74.

From west Waynesburg, turn right off of Route 21 West onto Route 18 North. Follow Route 18 North approximately 3.3 miles until you come to the village of Sycamore. After making a sharp left turn and crossing a bridge in the middle of Sycamore, you will see the church entrance on your right. The church and cemetery sit atop a steep hill.

This cemetery is situated beside the Bates Fork Baptist Church. I found it in good condition and it is maintained on a regular basis. No burials have occurred here since 1975.

I walked the cemetery on 3 Apr 2007. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones and would share them with anyone interested.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
