From Waynesburg follow Route 21 west approximately 6.5 miles through the town of Rogersville to a blinking yellow light. Turn left onto Route 18 south at the light and continue for .5 miles. Make a left on to Hargus Creek Road, passing by West Greene High School. Follow for 1.1 miles. Turn left onto Turkey Hollow Road and cross the Shriver covered bridge. After crossing the bridge, the road forks. Bear to the right and stay on Turkey Hollow Road and follow for .5 miles until you come to a mobile home on the left hand side of the road just across a small stream.

The cemetery is located in the woods across the road from the mobile home. It is visible from the road but is very small and can easily be missed. The cemetery is located on private property. The property is owned by the residents of the mobile home. Please obtain permission from the property owners before going to the cemetery.

This cemetery is a very small family cemetery and is no longer maintained. However, it is locatated in the woods and there is not a great deal of undergrowth around it. All standing stones are legible. I also found one unidentified fieldstone marker and one stone that was broken into several pieces and no longer legible. There was also a footstone with the initials M.A. that did not match any of the standing stones. It most likely would be the footstone for the broken and illegible stone. The last burial took place here in 1873.

I walked the cemetery on 26 Dec 2008. This transcription is complete and includes all existing stones. I also have digital photographs of all the stones as well as many views of the cemetery itself and would share them with anyone interested.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
