Roland Burial Ground
Fairless Hills, Bucks County, Pennsylvania

Coventry and Oxford Valley Rds
Faithless Hills PA

Lat: 40° 10' 45"N, Lon: 74° 51' 51"W

Contributed by Daniel Loss, Jan 01, 2004 [dll37@juno.com]. Total records = 3.

From the Oxford Valley exit of Route 1, go south on Oxford Valley Road. Cross over Business Route 1 and take first left, which is a continuation of Oxford Valley Road. The cemetery is on the right side of the road in a residential area, surrounded by a stone wall approximately 0.2 miles from the turn.

A plaque reads: "Established 1704 by deed '5 perches square' on this land by first purchasers John Rowland and Priscilla Sheppard his wife. Passengers with William Penn on the ship 'Welcome' 1682."

Burials no longer occur on the site. Fifteen stones are on the grounds, however, unmarked depressions at the site indicate more burials (at least 25 total). All but three of the remaining stones are totally illegible.

I recorded this burial site on Jan 01, 2004, using my camera.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
