From the Bristol exit of the PA Turnpike, go north on Rt 13 for about 1/2 mile and exit on the right where the sign says Edgley Rd. Turn left onto Edgley Rd., cross over Rt 13, then cross over Mill Creek Rd. Turn right onto New Falls Road, where you will see the Golden Dawn Restaurant right in front of you. Emilie UMC is about 1/8 mile on the right side and the cemetery behind the church.

This cemetery is owned and very well maintained by the Emilie United Methodist Church. It dates back to the mid 1800s. The overall condition is good, although some of the older stones are broken or missing.

There are four sections in this cemetery. The first one being the oldest section, which is located behind the chapel. In here the condition of the stones in some cases is not that good.

The second section, rows 1-34, is divided into two areas. A-side being on the left and B-side is on the right with a path from the back of the chapel to the Burley Memorial Garden dividing them.

The third section is located in the center of the cemetery and is called Burley Memorial Garden. This is where cremated remains are interred.

The fourth section contains rows 35 and up. It is located in the back half of the cemetery behind the Burley Memorial Garden. This is the newer section where markers are used instead of headstones. There is also a center path that runs between the A-side and B-side, similar to the second section.

I have compiled this transcription from tombstone inscriptions, sexton records and comparing with previous transcriptions, during 2005-2006.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
