Pioneer Cemetery
The Dalles, Wasco County, Oregon

Lat: 45°35.27N, Lon: 121°11.10W

Contributed by Cheryl Gates, Feb-Apr 2001 [capence@netcnct.net].
Total records = 179.

This is a work in progress to be completed soon.

There is said to be a Chinese section of this cemetery west of marked burial ground. A road and new housing development are on this said section. There is nothing written about this Chinese section. It is just said that it is there.

Note:The headstone of Capt. Thomas Stump is in this cemetery, but he is not buried here. He was buried in the old Masonic Cemetery. This cemetery was removed in the 1980's with remains being re-interred in a common grave at Parklawn Cemetery in The Dalles. A common monument at the new gravesite list all the names of the people that were buried at the old cemetery.

The letters 'HS' have been added to the end of entries that have a headstone in Mar 2001, when I did a walk through.

cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

Clear Digital Media, Inc.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
