To reach this cemetery go north out of Grants Pass on I-5, exiting at Merlin, turn north on Monument Road and continue for 3.5 miles. The Cemetery is just barely past Pleasant Valley Road. Do not turn on Schoolhouse Creek Road, as that is beyond the cemetery.

Portions of Pleasant Valley are quite overgrown, but most is at least moderately tended. It was established in the mid-1880s and is still in use. Use caution when you visit, some of the roads become badly rutted, and are very narrow, also, the undergrowth is a happy home for snakes. The Applegate Trail ran very close to the western edge of this cemetery.

Information in parentheses is not on the marker, but was acquired through cemetery records, funeral homes, families, and research.

I walked and read this cemetery in the summer of 2005. It includes all existing and legible stones and markers.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
