The Springwater Cemetery is about 4.5 miles south of Estacada, Clackamas Co., OR. Take highway 224 to Estacada, OR, as you are leaving Estacada take a right onto highway 211 south, drive abt. 3 1/4 miles then turn right onto S. Day Hill Rd, drive until you come to S. Springwater Rd. You will want to take a left, stay on S. Springwater until it runs into S. Metzler Park Rd (S. Springwater Rd. turned 90 degrees to the left). Go straight ahead onto S Metzler Park RD, about 1/2 mile (after a curve to the right) on S. Metzler Park RD, on your right you will see Springwater Cemetery, turn right onto a little unmarked road.

The earliest date of birth found on a tombstone at this Springwater Cemetery is for Mary Hudson born 1795. The earliest burial we found listed on a tombstone at the Springwater Cemetery is 1862. Time and the elements have taken some grave markers and tombstones away. It appears to be that there are some graves at this cemetery without tombstones.

Springwater Cemetery is a nicely maintained country cemetery, under the Estacada Cemetery District. The cemetery district is still selling burial plots and doing burials in this cemetery at this time. It is situated in the small community of Springwater, which is northeast of Metzler Park.

This cemetery was walked and transcribed in the summer of 2006 by Brittany Piersall, RC Piersall and myself.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
