Newbury Cemetery
Lubeck, Washington County, Ohio

Lat: 39°13'44"N, Lon: 81°42'25"W

Contributed by Julie Witkowski, Apr 09, 2002 [jfwski@hotmail.com] Total records = 11.

This was the first cemetery on the banks of the Ohio River, above the fort. First burials were those of Mrs. Brown and child, and Persis Dunhan, who were killed by Indians, Mar 15, 1792.

I have transcribed from library materials, which are transcribed from tombstone readings. There are some which no longer have a marker.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
