History

Rose Hill Burial Park was officially founded in the 1920s, but burials have taken place in the park earlier. The name Rose Hill was derived from the landscaping and nursery service originally located on the property. Over the decades, the Park added more sections to accommodate certain religions, organizations, such as the Masons, Eastern Star, the Jewish faith, and the military.

In the early 1980s, Rose Hill opened up a mausoleum complex. In the early 1990s, it added its own funeral home, Catavolos Funeral Home.

Today, Rose Hill Burial Park is Akron's largest cemetery.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
