Bowman Cemetery
Pike Township, Stark County, Ohio

Lat: 40° 41' 23"N, Lon: 81° 19' 52"W

Submitted by Jimmie L Smith, Sep 21, 2003 [jsmith7198@aol.com]. Total records = 45.

From Interstate 77, take Route 800 (Cleveland Ave) South, approximately 5 to 8 miles. Just South of Howenstine, turn left on East Sparta Ave (Pike Township Garage will be on the right). This road winds parallel to Route 800 for some distance and crosses over several times. Go approximately 1 mile and turn left on either Elson St or Newmont St (the only roads to the left). Both of these roads intersect at the top of the hill and Bowman Cemetery is located at their juncture (on the left or right depending on which road you take). They are township roads and are very hilly and curvey.

This cemetery is maintained by the township. It is in good condition. No new burials have been noted.

I walked and read all the existing, legible headstones on Sep 20, 2003.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
