Sterling Forest, Rockland County, New York

Contributed by Maude Conklin [doghaven@frontiernet.net].  Total records = 11.

The cemetery is located on the left side of the IBM parking lot.  It is on a small knoll and was left intact when IBM was built.  It has been called or referred to as the Sterling Mines Cemetery. What the actual name is unknown to me.  The area it is located in is Sterling Forest, Orange County, NY.  The area was known for its iron mines in the 1800s.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
