Location: Forest Park Cemetery is located about 1 mile east of Troy's eastern boundary, within the Town of Brunswick, along the north side of Pinewoods Ave. It's adjacent to the southern border of Troy Country Club, and adjacent to Troy Country Club Rd.

Forest Park Cemetery was established in 1897 and went into bankruptcy in 1914. It was reincorporated that same year, but it largely sold most of its lands to the nearby Country Club of Troy. That corporation finally went bankrupt in the 1930s. Ownership of what remained of the cemetery fell into dispute until 1987 when the State of New York declared the Town of Brunswick retains control. Today, the cemetery remains closed to the public, though burials still occur from time to time.

The cemetery is often referred to as, "Pinewoods Cemetery" and "Forest Hills Cemetery".

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
