Morehouse Methodist Cemetery
Morehouseville, Hamilton County, New York

Lat: 43° 23' 29"N, Lon: 74° 43' 14"W

Contributed by Leslie Nutbrown, Sep 29, 2007 [lnutbrown@bell.net] Total records = 77.

This cemetery is located on Route 8 on the northside of the road, about 1.5 mile east of the town of Morehouseville, just east of Piseco Lake and west of the town of Hoffmeister.

This cemetery dates from the 1860s and is used today. There are two war monuments at the front near the road. Some of the plots are set off with separate fences within the graveyard. Some are hard to read. Apparently the old church is now a museum. The cemetery is still being used for burials.

Susan Nutbrown and I walked and read this cemetery on Sep 26, 2007 and made a complete recording of all legible tombstones and markers.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
