Location: Lancaster Rural Cemetery is located about 1 mile east of Lancaster village boundary, along the north-west corner of Broadway (US-20), and Cemetery Rd. It's main entrance is actually along Cemetery Rd, though most people enter from Broadway.

Lancaster Rural Cemetery is owned by Lancaster Rural Cemetery Association, which formed in 1870. However, the cemetery dates back to 1808, when a plot of land was donated by Captain James Clark for use a town burial ground. The first burial took place in March 1812.
