Cemetery History

Faling Cemetery remains one of the oldest burial grounds in Tonawandsa. The plot was established just north of the Richard Faling farmhouse on the 58-acre plot he settled about 1815 with his wife Catherine. The Falings, and the Zimmermans to the north, were the earliest families to settle along the old Indian trail that would become Delaware Road. When their infant daughter, Mary Ann Faling, died at six weeks of age in 1816, the plot was established.Other interments were made over the remainder of the 19th century.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
