In the beautiful sunny spot a short distance west of Amenia Union lie many of the early settlers of the Oblong valley The cemetery though one of the oldest in the town the earliest stone being inscribed 1749 is still used for burials being in excellent order and well cared for

The Oblong church where Rev Mr Knibloe preached so many years stood on the hill east of this burying ground almost on the Connecticut boundary line many of his congregation coming from Connecticut Amenia Union is sometimes called Hitchcock Corners.

    cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

    Clear Digital Media, Inc.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
