History
In 1862, the Glenwood Cemetery Association was incorporated and the Association began the process of laying out the grounds, planting trees and building roads. The cemetery was opened and named in the year of 1867.
In 1946 the cemetery association was dissolved and management of the cemetery was assumed by the Village of Homer.
Before Glenwood Cemetery opened, burials took place at a location where Homer Elementary School now stands. Many of these burials were moved to Glenwood Cemetery.
