To reach the cemetery from US Route 11 South, one turns right and crosses the Tioughnioga River. Continue on to the 4 corners in the middle of town. Turn left and you can see the cemetery on the right.

Forest Hill Cemetery sits atop a hill in the hamlet of Blodgett Mills, NY, town of Cortlandville, Cortland County NY. Forest Hill is still an active cemetery and the second oldest in the area. The early markers show burials in the 1700's.

The cemetery is just to the south of the Independent Church of Blodgett Mills, (formerly the Baptist Church). The cemetery is now incorporated. The caretaker and curator is Milton Allen, Blodgett Mills, NY 13738.

I compiled this transcription from tombstone inscriptions. It is a complete listing of all burials and was done the summer of 2002.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
