Located 13 miles east of Truth or Consequences. Was a shipping center for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1883 and then when the Elephant Butte dam was being built form 1910 to 1916. Today, north of Engle the Navy maintains the Space Surveillance Station. In 1940 Hwy 52 was closed when the White Sands Missile Range was established.

Many graves are unmarked and some disrupted by wildlife and cows. Old western type cemetery with wooden crosses and iron fences.
