Rosedale Cemetery is currently operated as a non-profit, non-sectarian cemetery. It was founded in 1840 as, "Orange Cemetery" and on 10 acres that had previously belonged to the late John Quimby. Upon its opening, many family relinquished their plots at the "Old Burying Ground" of The First Presbyterian Church of Orange. Other families removed their plots from there and reinterred them at Rosedale. In 1844, the name was changed to "Rosedale Cemetery".

Today, Rosedale Cemetery sits on 125 acres.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
