Shipley Cemetery
Washington County, Nebraska

Section 32 Fort Calhoun Township

Lat: 41° 23' 36"N, Lat: 95° 58' 58"W

Contributed by Anne Braun, Jul 07, 2002 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 13.

From Fort Calhoun, go three miles south on Highway 75 until you reach County Road 38 then turn east and go 1 mile until you reach County Road 49, turn and go south about 2 miles. The cemetery is on the east side of the road. It is also right on the Douglas/Washington County line.

This was the cemetery that was used by the Shipley Family. For many years it was neglected, but in 1979 a Shipley Cemetery Association was form to maintain the cemetery.
The day I visited on Jun 20 2002, the grass needed to be cut and there were some basestones without the headstones.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
