Blair Township, T18N R11E Sec 29
Lat: 41° 30' 20"N, Lon: 96° 12' 39"W, approx

Contributed by Anne Braun, Oct 27, 2002 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 13.

From the intersection of Highways 133 and 30 go 1 mile southwest on Highway 30 until you hit County Road 26 then turn west and go 2.5 miles. The Cemetery is on the South Side of the road.

This cemetery is registered with the Nebraska State Historical Society. The cemetery was founded in 1870 by Martin V McCormick. The last burial took place in 1888.

For many years the cemetery was neglected and occasionally the boy scouts would come clear it out. In the fall of 1999, a group of citizens took over the clean up and restoration of the cemetery. Three brand new Civil War Headstones was placed there for the three Civil War Veterans that are buried there. Some of the dead that was buried there were removed to either the Kennard Cemetery or the Blair Cemetery.

The day I visited on Oct 26, 2002. Today this cemetery is better taken care of, thanks to Washington County and the State of Nebraska.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
