8 miles south of Arvilla on County Road 2, just south of the intersection with 9th Ave NE or 4 miles north of the intersection of Highway 15 and County Road 2.

This is another Nowegian pioneer cemetery. It has the names of the five babies that were born and died of Russett. There is prairie grass that is overgrown. Because of the long prairie grass, there might be more headstones that are buried in there. It has no name on it so have given it the name of those buried in it.

According to the "Washington Lutheran Church Centennial Book", Northwood, North Dakota, USA...

"The Gran congregation met at the Halvor and Ingeborg Bjerke Farm, and other homes under the leadership of Rev. M.J. Waage. They paid him $50 a year for as many services as he could give them -- and he came often. The only know landmark of the Gran Church is a cemetery on the half mile line on the north edge of Pleasant View Township, Section 19, just south of the Halvor T. Bjerke home. The congregation dissolved in February, 1892; nine families joined the Washington Church and two families joined the Northwood Church. Those two Churches formed a parish and, in 1892, called Rev. Albert Johnson to be pastor.".

I walked and read this cemetery on Mar 19, 2001.
