Menoken Cemetery is a rural cemetery located near the village of Menoken in Burleigh County, North Dakota.. It was founded in 1881. The first known burial in this cemetery was Maggie Turnbull in 1884.

The cemetery occupied about two acres of land until recent years when a few additional acres were acquired. The Menoken Township Board managed the cemetery until 1958. At that time the Menoken Cemetery Association was organized. In 1994 we researched the cemetery and printed the known burials and some other data in the Burleigh County Book of Remembrances. In 2008 Menoken celebrated its 125th anniversary. We published updated burial information in our community history book. This work is an expansion of and update of the information in the 2008 history book. Our information is as complete as reasonably possible and was current in the summer of 2014.

We used many methods to get the data such as obituaries, tombstone inscriptions, personal contact, genealogy websites, and the cemetery board. There are certainly errors in here as in any other work. It would be possible to get more information but one reaches the point of diminishing returns. Hopefully some of our data will be useful to other researchers. We would certainly appreciate any additional information. Throughout this project I was assisted by Gwen Hall who did much of the IT work and data input. A big thank you to her!

The cemetery is well maintained and is a source of community pride.
