Johns Cemetery
Garner, Wake County, North Carolina

Auburn Church Rd
Garner, St. Mary Twp NC

Lat: 35°42'31"N, Lon: 78°33'28"W

Contributed by Shirley Olson, Mar 17, 2003 [shirley32olson@yahoo.com]. Total records = 13.

From the intersection of Hwy.70 East and Jones Sausage Rd., in front of the new White Oak Shopping Center, turn (N) onto Jones Sausage Rd. (SR 2547) and go .6 mi. to E. Garner Rd.(SR 1004). (This is a curvy piece of road which crosses the railroad tracks.) Turn right on E. Garner Rd.(SE) and go 1.6 mi. to Auburn Church Rd.(SR 2548). Turn onto Auburn Church Rd. which runs (N) only, and go .8 mi. to the cemetery on your right just after the intersection with Wall Store Rd.

This small family cemetery is enclosed by a wrought iron fence and sits on a little knoll in a sparsely settled rural neighborhood. Some of the headstones have been carefully mended and the cemetery is in good condition. Dr. Braxton Banks' house on E. Garner Rd. is listed in "The Historic Architecture of Wake County".

All the information in parentheses was supplied by descendants of this family.

I transcribed this cemetery from tombstones on 17 Mar 2003.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
