Noxubee County is on US #45 approximately half way between Columbus on the North and Meridian to the South. The Town of Shuqualak is 9 miles South of the county seat in Macon on Hwy#45, and is the starting point for reaching the cemetery. Go west on Hwy#21 for four miles and turn right on a county road, past a junk yard on the left, the Cotton Cemetery on the right, over two unmarked bridges across small streams. When the blacktop ends turn right on a dirt road, take the next right, then a left, go 100 yards to the church and cemetery. Total distance from town about 9 miles.

This cemetery is well maintained and currently in use. The Macedonia Methodist Church is also still active, and holds services one Sunday out of the month. This area was apparently an active community center at one time with a railroad and a post office, but the only remaining activity we found was the church and cemetery. The closest town is now Shuqualak MS, which is 9 miles east.

We found these listed readable stones with another 20 that cannot be accurately read. Estimating from the size and the open spaces there may be another 100 unmarked graves. We have not been able to locate any existing surveys or site records for the cemetery.

Sidney Puckett and I conducted a survey of this cemetery on Jun 23-24, 2008. This contains all existing and legible stones and markers at that time.
