Taylor Cemetery
Lucedale, George County, Mississippi

Lat: 30° 55' 30"N, Lon: 88° 34' 10"W
T1S R6W Section 27

Contributed by James Trussell, Dec 10, 2007 [carverofwood1260@wmconnect.com].  Total records = 29.

Leaving Lucedale on Highway 198 East, you will go about 1 mile, when you top the hill immediately on your left will be some red brick (Small) columns with chain between them. This is the Taylor cemetery entrance, you must park on the south side of the road and walk across the road and up the bank to reach the cemetery.

This is a private cemetery that is maintained by heirs of the founders of it. It is in very good condition and the oldest marked grave is that of James M. Spooner (date of death) 6-11-1879. Information was taken from all legible temporary grave markers and headstone inscriptions.

I walked this cemetery on Dec 08, 2007, and the information was gathered using all existing and legible headstone inscriptions and temporary grave markers. I was given permission for the walk by Mr. Lee West, whose mother was a Taylor.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
