Merrill Cemetery
Merrill, George County, Mississippi

Lat: 30° 58' 03"N, Lon: 88° 42' 59"W

Contributed by James Trussell, Mar 24, 2007 [carverofwood1260@wmconnect.com].  Total records = 30.

Traveling west on highway 98 by-pass out of Lucedale, Ms., you will come to Holmes Missionary Baptist Church on your right. Directly across from the church is Merrill Road. Take Merrill road and travel south approximately 3.8 tenths of a mile. Cross the railroad and continue south another .05 tenths of a mile. Merrill cemetery Road will be on your left.

This is a dirt road and you will follow it another .05 tenths of a mile and the cemetery will be on your right. There are numerous unmarked graves in this cemetery, and several white crosses have been erected to mark some graves. Several graves have iron fences around them.

I walked this cemetery on Mar 24, 2007, and the information was gathered using all existing and legible headstone inscriptions and temporary grave markers.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
