Lat: 30° 54' 54"N, Lon: 88° 35' 12"W

Contributed by James Trussell, Oct 16, 2007, last edited Nov 23, 2007 [carverofwood1260@wmconnect.com].  Total records = 1,938.

We'll start our trip to this cemetery from Main Street in Lucedale, Mississippi. Take Mill Street heading south at the four way stop beside the China Town Restaurant. The cemetery will be approximately mile on your left.

This Cemetery is owned by the City of Lucedale and upkeep and maintenance is done by the city. There are numerous unmarked graves in this cemetery. On the USGS map it is called the Magnolia Garden Cemetery.

The walk was completed on Oct 13, 2007, with a total of 1,935 listings. Of those 191 were marked with a "Veterans Plaque", remember there are always some veterans that are not recognized with a military plaque or stone. I have attempted to list all known graves with the cemetery addition number first and the actual cemetery plot number second, these numbers will be in parentheses. The City of Lucedale has documentation as to the owners of the cemetery plots, this survey will tell who is at this time actually buried in the individual plots.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
