Scantlin Cemetery
Royal, Phelps County, Missouri

Lat: 37° 09' 09"N, Lon: 91° 34' 54"W
Dawson Twp, Sec 4

Contributed by Sharon Macormic, Dec 06, 2006 [shamac@fidnet.com]. Total records = 38.

To Locate this cemetery drive out Highway B North from St. James. Stay on Highway B until you reach the county line of Phelps and Gasconade Co. Just as you reach the Phelps Co. line look off to your left into the field and you will see the cemetery.

The cemetery is out in a field. There is a locked gate to get past, however the land owners do not mind unlocking it for you. (Sorry I can't say where the owners live, we just happened upon them in the field when we were there) They will unlock gate and you can drive out in the field right to the cemetery. There are several field stones marking graves and several that had writing at one time but are now unreadable.

Denise Seevers and I walked this entire cemetery in the spring of 2006.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
